The Oakville Horticultural Society plant sale held at St. Paul’s United Church on Saturday, May 17, 2008 was a tremendous success thanks to the out-pouring of help from Society members. The plant material received this year was in great condition, included those plants in high demand, several unusual and even some native plants.

Thank-you to all those who dug and divided plants, to the plant depot personnel, to those who transported soil and pots. Thank-you to all those who worked at the sale. Our Master Gardener table was very well used-- thank-you David and Cathy and all others who helped give out plant information. We had wonderful help from our two high school volunteers who enjoyed the experience and, we are pleased to announce, will be back next year.

Some of the unsold plants found a new home in the Forsythe St. Parkette and in St. Paul’s United Church gardens, some went to the Junior gardens and the remainder of the plants went to Oakville Green for their Saturday, May 24 plants sale where your efforts will continue to bring about good works.

Keep saving those pots and trays over the summer as we need to replenish our supply for next year.
